Update Nr. 19
Herewith we would like to present our new update Nr. 19
First of all :
The whole Sumba-Project team wish you all a HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010.
We would like to express our "Thanks" to the sponsors, Co-sponsors and to the people who made this project through their donation, support and their active assistance possible.
We hope that during the next years these sponsors will continue to support this project to enable these now already appr.350 children a undisrupted continues school education.
Through this successfull activities,more and more children are coming and ask for permission to join this shool.
There is now no space anymore in these existing buildings. Even the teacher room is used as classrooms.There is still enough land to build a new building with 3 very much neded new classrooms.
If we can find that money, this extended school would provide a complete elementary school education.
After completing that school it would than enable the students to continue their education by joining for example a hotel training school in Bali, Surabaya or Jakarta or something equivalent.
Our target is to continue providing education and through this education, these children will have a better chance for a secure future for themselves and their families.
We will find out how much money would be needed to complete this school with the 3 needed classrooms and we will report this in out next project update.
Another good things is, that through the already provided funds by Rotary Club Bali Kuta, Rotary International and the Rotary Club of RC Monnickendam District 1580 ini Holland a local company started drilling an additional will. If this drilling is successful, the school and the neighborhood should have sufficient good water for their daily needs available. As already mentioned this water projet is ment as a side project and managed by PP Peter Hanes and is financed separately.
