There was no empty space left in the new school building, and even when the students sit closer to each other, there was not enough space for them to let them join the classes.

Not to close the entrance door to this children and let them stay outside, the school director had no other chance to build again temporary class rooms made out of grass and bamboo.

The construction was then done by parents and the neighbors of the school at their own cost.

The new students are now also using the existing school- , water- and sanitary facilities of the concrete school building. All students - new and old - are now all together 257 children joining this school.

At the moment there is a need for new funds amounting to app.. Rp. 200 Million (US$ app.. 22.000,--)

We should try hard to find the funds to continue building sufficient school facilities for the children of this remote villages.

Finance

Funds which where - already from the early project planning - very much expected from Rotary, are not yet available. The funds should be provided by Rotary Club Kuta through a common "matching grant" provided by Rotary International.

The matching grant request was then made by our Rotary Club in the year 2005 and the proper forms where send to the Head Office in Evanstone, America by this Rotary Kuta Club for approval.

Until today, we are still waiting for information if the request is processed or not, and what is the outcome - of this request.

New sponsors

The "Stammtisch" of the German Restaurant in Bali took the sponsorship of a much needed additional teacher.
The club sponsors now the monthly salary payment of Rp 500.ooo. (US$ 55,--)
